A tender here works harder than one in a sheltered southern harbour. It runs guests through real chop, sits on a mooring in moving water, and gets used in weather that would keep a fair-weather boat at the dock.

Yes — arguably more suitable than in sheltered water, provided you choose on capability. The bay's chop and tides reward freeboard and hull form, and jet drive's propless transom is a genuine asset around the swimmers and busy anchorages of a bay summer.
